Want To Upgrade Your Thermostat?

Changing your thermostat is often a way to lower your energy costs and now it’s just gotten better.  Smart thermostats will adjust heating and air conditioning when you are home or away.  You will also be able to change settings from your smart phone or other mobile devises.

ComEd is now offering a rebate to upgrade to select Smart Thermostats.  The local gas companies are also offering rebates to upgrade your thermostat.  Download the attached rebates guide to see how you can earn up to $150 back when you upgrade to a Smart Thermostat.

ComEd Now Offers Smart Thermostat Rebate

2015 07-07

Beginning July 6th, you can earn a $100 rebate when you have a smart thermostat installed. Currently, only three thermostats are eligible for the rebate – the Ecobee 3, the Honeywell Lyric and the Nest Learning Thermostat.  Some important facts about the rebate are below:

  • Must be purchased and installed between July 6, 2015 and May 31, 2016
  • Com Ed must be supplying electric
  • Must be installed by a contractor
  • Must show proof of purchase and installation
  • Must show that it is connected to a power source
  • Can be installed with a new system or on an existing system

Rebates Available Through Nicor energySMART Program

Nicor’s energySMART program offers simple steps toward energy savings.  The energySMART program includes an energy assessment, free products and rebates on high efficiency products for your home.  If you are a Nicor customers planning to purchase a furnace or heating and cooling system, visit www.nicorgasrebates.com for more information on how you can save. Loan programs are also available.

Complete System Rebates Are Increasing For Nicor & ComEd Customers

Consumers can take advantage of additional savings from Nicor & ComEd when they install a furnaces and air conditioner between February 1st and April 30th.

Extra $100 from ComEd for Complete System rebates with a 14.5+ SEER A/C:
92%+ AFUE furnace & 14.5+ SEER A/C = $700 ($350 from ComEd and $350 from Nicor Gas)
95%+ AFUE furnace & 14.5+ SEER A/C = $750 ($350 from ComEd and $400 from Nicor Gas)
97%+ AFUE furnace & 14.5+ SEER A/C = $850 ($350 from ComEd and $500 from Nicor Gas)
 
Extra $250 from ComEd for Complete System rebates with a  16+ SEER A/C:
92%+ AFUE furnace & 16+ SEER A/C = $850 ($500 from ComEd and $350 from Nicor Gas)
95%+ AFUE furnace & 16+ SEER A/C = $900 ($500 from ComEd and $400 from Nicor Gas)
97%+ AFUE furnace & 16+ SEER A/C = $1,000 ($500 from ComEd and $500 from Nicor Gas)

They also increased the amount a consumer can receive on their value package bundles.  Bundles include Furnace, A/C, storage water heater with a > 0.67 energy factor, 6 feet of hot water pipe insulation and a qualifying programmable thermostat.
